There are not many locales in the country that can offer activ-
ities for all four seasons. But Incline Village, an exclusive
enclave in Lake Tahoe, Nev., is one of those places—it is tru-
ly an ideal place for year-round luxury living. And one of the more
impressive properties within the enclave is the Sierra Star estate, a
sprawling property that, some say, offers the most bang for your buck
on the lake.
Because Sierra Star is on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe rather
than in California, the tax benefits are significant and a big draw to
potential buyers. The estate also boasts two piers with three boat lifts,
a rare offering in Lake Tahoe and Incline Village. Scott Alford, son of
the current owner and a licensed Realtor, iterates,“Some of the more
expensive estates in the area do not present the same tax advantages
and it is certainly very rare to find properties with two 10-by-150-
foot piers.”
“The Sierra Star estate was comprised of an assemblage of
nine separate parcels,” Alford explains, “Six of those were pushed
down and one was built in their place to make up four single-fam-
ily homes on nearly 5 acres.” One of the parcels was left undevel-
oped, allowing the new owner the freedom to create the estate of
their dreams. Aside from the impressive 10,700-plus-square-foot main
home, the property features 6,700 feet of Alpine Lake frontage.“The
more expensive properties on the lake don’t offer both the lake
frontage and multiple estates,” Alford adds.

Ideal for a corporate retreat or a family compound, you are greeted with a magnificent 18-foot fountain cascading down through the property. Guests can enjoy their own private retreat in one of the two beautifully appointed guest houses, each comprising more than 4,300 square feet. Perhaps one of the most unique features of the home is a 12,000-square-foot subterranean garage that is serviced by a 60-by-16-foot freight elevator, an ideal location to display an automobile collection.“This is without a doubt the most amazing estate on Lake Tahoe,” boasts Alford, and it easy to see why the home has developed a reputation for providing the utmost in luxury and one-of-a-kind details.

Whereas most of the listings in the area also find themselves in the upper end of the luxury real estate market, the residences usually come unfurnished and undecorated. Not true for the Sierra Star. Trying to maintain the distinguished style and décor, all four properties come furnished with the full market price.

Incline Village has a lot to offer. Whether it’s playing a round on one of the two golf courses, suntanning on one of the three beaches or skiing on the private slopes, the location alone is worth the hefty price tag expected with Incline Village estates—prices that have helped earn the town the nickname of “Income Village.” But as high as prices can go in this market, it seems as though the Sierra Star estate will guarantee your money’s worth.
